Permanent Ban - Context
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to share my experience and see if anyone else has gone through something similar. I recently got permanently banned from EA for swearing at a teammate — but here's the messed up part, the guy was purposefully griefing our match, as he sent me a message saying this after the game.
He was obviously doing things just to throw the game. It honestly felt like he was baiting a reaction out of me and my duo and yeah, I got annoyed and said something I probably shouldn’t have. I’ll own that part. But waking up to a permanent ban feels incredibly harsh, especially considering the circumstances.
I get that EA wants to maintain a positive community, and I respect that, but this just feels like an overreach. Where’s the accountability for people who ruin games on purpose to get others banned?
I got banned before for swearing at someone over text chat while they said some racist comments in game chat. This just shows how voice chat doesnt get monitored, no matter what they say, but when someone fights back in text chat then its an instant suspension or ban.
Would love to hear if anyone else has dealt with this or has advice on what to do next.
Easier said than done but the way to go here is to never retaliate in chat. It seems like those kind of players are trying to bait others into saying something they regret and the best way to foil that is to not respond. Having said all that, your course of action from this point may be to appeal the ban. The specific steps on that are detailed at the link below.
Thanks for playing.
