Cannot connect to EA server (Steam)

Question

I bought A WAY OUT to myself and my friend to play together, but every time we attempt to play online we get an error:

Unable to Connect to EA Servers

Unable to connect to EA servers. Please check your network connection or try again later. See ea.com/unable-to-connect for additional information.

I have tried everything behind the link and none of it work. I run Windows 11, EA app is connected to my steam and my xbox and my microsoft account. I have given it and the EA app permission to get trough firewall. I have no issue connecting online on any other steam game, only this one.

I bought A Way Out trough steam, so in in the EA app the game has a little "Steam" the on the game image. If I can't play this with my friend online I want ty money back. Why is playing your games so difficult?

Hi there. A Way Out was down a couple of days ago while we performed maintenance on the servers. Are you still having trouble connecting?

Hey. You're right, that was probably it. Game connects now that I retried.

When are your server maintenances usually? Because that one seemed to be middle of prime gaming time of EU folk, big bummer for us.

We try to do server maintenance off-peak hours. Unfortunately, there's always going to be a region where it's peak gaming time for them. Apologies for the frustration :(
