I clicked Play button but no response, and back to ea app and clicking play again.. and it doesn't end..How can I solve this situation? re-installed 5 times (both ea app and wild hearts) so please don't tell me reinstall / reboot computer.

@dynisaThis really isn't directed at you; but anyone.... anyone.... who thinks this is an acceptable solution, or even a valid work-around, is part of the problem.

Hello I am having the same issue as @lawrence8102 ,I tried all of the steps you mentionned but it didn't solved the problem.The problem being when pressing play on steam the game doesn't start at all and it only open the "EA app" software.> Also, it is important to note that my Steam account is properly linked to my EA account used on the "EA app" software. I am suspect that the problem come from the EA program called "Link2EA.exe" that can be found here ProgramFiles\Programs\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop\Link2EA.exe.Infact, when launching the game from steam or from the EA software "EA app" a window open which run the following command line: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop\Link2EA.exe" "link2ea://launchgame/1938010?platform=steam&theme=BOhni" "" "" "" "" "" "" "" ""When looking at the arguments used in the command line it lookslike it starting the right game from the steam library as the steam appID is the correct one.>>> After the window closing while showing nothing (the window from the above commadn line), I can see the process of WILD HEARTS starting in the task manager (with the following command line: F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\WILD_HEARTS\00_game\target_origin\ex\WILD HEARTS.exe)>>> Finaly the process closes without any error messages (as far as I am able to rapidly browse through the task manager). Steam's play button turns into the stop buttonDate this issue started: I bought the game Feb 17 around 1am EST, and played it for about five hours, two different sessions. Anything else: When you press play the pop up shows and then disappears on steam. It says the game is running, and it shows in the task manager. There is no game window. The game does show on the task manager. @sstepane Hi, that message can indicate system file corruption.

@EA_David Hi, have run scannow & dism. Even though scannow have found some issues and repaired these it did not help. Other games I play do not exhibit such a behaviour (and I don't recall when the last time I've seen it...).
Have ruled out several possible causes (drivers, win update, defender, third party software...) nothing seems to help.

another thing I've noticed - while the game exe file is of version 1.0.0.0 - it's library file dbdata.dll is of version 1.0.0.1
ps. i have reinstalled it once, deleted exe files so it will redownload those. no luck.

@sstepane HI, just to swing back to the scannow, you mention it found and fixed a few issues. When this happens it's best to run it again, and see if it finds anything else. It's usually clear after one run, but it's not uncommon to see more issues be found, and that can indicate other issues.

I apologize if you have already run it multiple times, but I wanted to check that off.

chkdsk /f disk with WH - minor bitmap fix
chkdsk /f system disk - reboot - scannow - no errors
ea app repair WH - repair finished, ea app stuck at "repairing" (img included)
ea app restart - launch WH - same error (0xc0000409)
delete executable of WH - ea app repair - downloaded executable and stuck at "repairing"....
