Can't access Battlefield 2042 Early Access with EA Play Pro

I pre-ordered BF2042 before the beta and played it for a while then. Now I've purchased EA Play Pro so I can play the game in early access (starting today). However, I still can't play the game, it says I can play it on the 19th of November which is the normal start date, not the early access.

Shouldn't EA Play Pro give early access? Does anyone else have the same problem?

    @Bright_Iron_x I had the same problem and I fixed it by using Origin, instead of the EA Desktop app. Open Origin, go to the game, and you should see an "Upgrade to Ultimate" button. Click on that, and you should be able to launch it, hopefully.

    Sorry to hear that you are having issues with trying to play BF2042 via EA Play Pro.

    Can you please test is this is the same issue for you via EA Desktop as via Origin?

    Hey @EA_Leeuw,

    Thanks for the reply. I had the issue in EA Desktop. However, when I switched to Origin I was able to upgrade the game to the Ultimate edition and can click Play.

    Unfortunately I still can't play it, the game hangs on launch with the "Easy" loading pop-up. I can see 2-3 instances of BF2042.exe in the task manager, always hanging after reading the exact number of I/O bytes. Nothing happens if I wait, restart the game, origin, or my computer. This happens on both Origin and EA Desktop.

    I'm using Windows 10 with all updates installed. Could you please help?

    Hey, I can't access 2042 with EA Pro either. I pre-loaded it (standard edition) yesterday via the EA desktop app, then this morning I upgraded to EA Pro from within the app, and after restarting a couple times and logging out/in, I cannot start 2042. The play button is just not available.

    Thank you so much, I found that as well after googling around, and it is now re-downloading. I wish I had known sooner, the process was kind of confusing!

    FWIW, I was able to use origin via the main website to enable the download with the EA desktop App. They were linked up right away, which was nice.

    Hey @NoX4Real,

    Can you please check if your GPU driver is up to date?
    I see that yours is from the 20th of Oct, while the newest should be the 26th.

    After you have updated the drivers, please reboot your PC, repair the game via Origin & can you please check again?

    @EA_Leeuw That's very weird. I'm sure I had the latest drivers. Note that the second to last driver was released 12 October, so I think the 20th of October is the right one, probably the signing date was different from release date.

    Anyway, I was so hopeless that I completely uninstalled and reinstalled Windows, updated to latest drivers and Windows updates. Now the game works!!!!!

    I'm not sure what exactly was the problem, and I certainly won't advise others to completely reinstall Windows, but that's what worked for me.

    By the way I checked DxDiag on the new install of Windows after installing latest NVIDIA drivers and it still said 20 October.

    Hope that's helpful for others somehow.
