I cannot purchase an ea play subscription on my ps5
Everytime I've tried it just doesn't not work and says an unidentified error occurred please try again in a few moments this has been a problem for months now

Very strange. Have you tried changing the payment method on your PlayStation Network account to see if that helps push the transaction through?
We've seen players resolve errors similar to this by deleting the app and re-installing it.
