Every time I try to download Command and Conquer the ultimate collection, Origin wants me to pay for a service already included in my Xbox Game pass (PC+Xbox type). I have used EA play before and had no issues until I specifically needed to use Origin. I shouldn't have to buy an EA Play subscription if I already have an EA Play subscription. Definitely appears to be a bug.

I use the Desktop app. The game isn't on the EA Play App. Even though Origin says it is available with EA Play. My sister had the same issue with the same game and just paid for another subscription and can now play the game with EA play via Origin. However, EA has automatically refunded one of the subscriptions and she now cannot use EA Play on her Xbox. I just bought it, it's not really expensive anyway. It's really weird with the subscription situation.
Community ManagerHey @EbilPebbles44 if using EA Play through Game Pass then you will not be able to access any EA Play games on Origin, you will only be able to play them on EA Desktop.
Not all games available on Origin through EA Play are currently available on EA Desktop.

I am having the same exact problem with Command & Conquer Ultimate Edition. It is not on the EA Play Desktop version. It's only on Origin. Origin says it's available with EA Play, but when I go to download it, it wants me to pay for EA play even though I already have it through Game Pass. Have you found a workaround yet?
Should anyone still be trying to figure this out, log out of the EA app.
Go to XBOX app (on PC)
click download game (only be logged in on xbox)
It will automatically load you in and start a download
