FFB BUG FIXED ON PC for Thrustmaster wheels (only?) - F1® 23 - Patch 1.07

Having problems with the force feedback since monday's patch ?

A lot of drivers are experiencing force feedback being 100% gone in most modes of the game, making it very frustrating and absoltely unplayable. How did we came to the point where in today's industry, devs publish games where such vital functions of their gameplay actually are'nt functionning? They dare call this game "competitive" and run an official esports series!

I'm shocked by these clowns developing at Codemasters. They are unable to deliver a roadworthy product despite being a triple A licensed product, and they proved it multiple times through the years. Simracing with no force feedback on your wheel is like playing Call of Duty with a broken joystick.

The solution who worked for me

If you're using Thrustmaster wheels, you can skip to the next section where the procedure is explained step by step.
If you're using devices from other brands such as Fanatec, Moza or any other, read this.

  1. From F1 23, press Alt+Tab to switch to another window (does'nt matter which one)
  2. Open your device settings software (not the game settings)
  3. What you are looking for is a way to get a short timed sample of the strengh of your current FFB settings.
  4. Do one FFB test
  5. Back to the game, force feedback may finally work again.

Please let anybody else know if it worked for you or not, what wheel you are using and any other details that you consider important.

Procedure if you're using Thrustmaster products :

  1. Open Thrustmaster Control panel
  2. Select your device and open properties
  3. Start the game
  4. Alt+Tab from the game to the properties
  5. Click on "Test FFB"
  6. Back to the game, force feedback should finally work

@Boost_Dragon91 This looks like another game issue but it's surely not related with FFB.

I don't really know what to tell since I don't play time trial and doesn't have this issue, just make sure all your drivers are up to date : wheel, gpu, windows...
Also try to verify the game files to see if everything is ok

Damn that's horrible, it doesn't live up to an officially licensed Formula 1 game.
Codemasters can't raise to the challenge and players are the ones who pay the price in the end.

It doesn't look like it's the same issue because for me FFB was never there until I did what I explained above.
I think it's just a different problem that you have, but despite being different it's affecting your FFB as well.

Unfortunately I won't have any solution for you mate, but I hope you'll find some sort of fix for your setup @thomasoeli

@BadMayh3m Oh in that case my bad, I had no clue Control Panel was available on other platforms than PC. I used to play with the T248 on Xbox Series and it was working just by pluging it to the console without any app to install.

If you can access to the same control panel as mine (see attached screenshot) and if you have FFB issues, you should defenitely try to follow as best as you can the method explained above. Basically you need to open the game, then open the control panel to test the force feedback and then when coming back to the game it's hopefully be fixed.

Let us know if that worked 😉

Im on the Xbox Series S and Ive decided to wait till everything calms down and was curious if anybody else has had any luck with your work around just incase I might need it down the road.
