In the Zone Trophy

I have a Question about in the zone Trophy does it mean pick a driver and a team play till the end of the season an hope your driver or team is in the top 3 or does it mean that i have to be in the t...

    Hey everyone,

    I've double-checked this with the team, and I can confirm that this achievement is indeed only for picking the correct winning driver or constructor in the overall fanzone standings.

    I also forwarded your feedback that this might not be the easiest achievement and it definitely has quite the luck factor included of which fanzone will be on top at the end of a season.

Yeah the wording of the trophy isn't clear, as there is no mention of "winning zone" within the game.

It's likely either:

  • By luck pick the winning driver or constructor in the overall fanzone standings
  • Or finish 1st (or possibly top 3) in your own individual fanzone room for driver or constructor.

I'm hoping it's the latter as at least you have some control over that.  It also might be the top 3 because the driver (or team principal) appear next to your avatar if you're in the top 3.

    Hi,

    first of all thanks for the reply. I contacted EA support several times but nobody actually knew what to say about this trophy.

    I honestly think this should not even be a trophy because the user has zero control over it. It's just gambling about a team/driver and hoping to guess. No offense but it makes absolutely no sense. I hope you guys will remove this trophy or at least change the requirements.

      Yeah I agree.

      It wouldn't be as bad if it was every week you could choose your team/driver but 8 weeks is ridiculous, especially as it's due to average amount of points so it makes it so hard as an individual to make a difference, especially if there are many players who have 0 points you have no control over. It just rewards picking the team/driver with the most amount of active players, which you have no idea when making your choices.

      Having the most (or top 3) points in a fan room is a grind but at least rewards you for putting the effort and you can clearly see how well you are doing compared to other players. Either the trophy should be changed to that or removed entirely in it's current form.

    I'm sure that the community is grateful for the information that you provided.  Any information is better than the random guesses that we have been making thus far.

    A suggestion:

    Please adjust this achievement to be the top 3 zones in a season.. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Constructor and Driver Fanzones.

    This will preserve the desired cooperative efforts and engagement, while still allowing it to be challenging enough to (potentially) keep a player engaged with the game for multiple seasons.  Assuming that the assets for the 1st place are already in place.. one would hope that making silver and bronze versions of the assets, changing the in game coding to allow for 2nd & 3rd. adjusting the achievement triggers in the various platforms, and QA testing the changes would not be an overly taxing redirection of resources.

    I cannot speak for anyone else, but I can say that my desire to purchase further EA products (and especially pre-ordering them) is becoming increasingly based on the achievements.  I do not mind a challenging achievement list, but something like "In The Zone" which has a high luck factor is one that will seriously impact my future purchasing decisions.

    No, this is completely unfair. You guys missed the mark on "achieve"ment. Trophies are supposed to earned not lucked into.. The Visa Cash App RB fanzone has like 3 rooms. Their average is so much easier to raise. It's BS. Fix it please so It's rewarded to people that are top 3 in their prospective rooms. Do the right thing. Forward this feedback along as well thanks.

      Hey folks,

      appreciate all of your feedback, and I've passed it along to the team.

      However, from my experience with other games, it's usually not always possible to retrospectively change achievements.

        @EA_Vendcera Why not? Is it not possible just a patch to fix it? Because achievements and luck should not be together. What was thinking the guy who had this brilliant idea? Come on, everybody is agreeing that this makes no sense. Personally, I just stopped play F1 World for this season because I picked Ferrari and Hamilton which are far away from the first position because I have no point to make an effort to be the first in my room. I know nothing about other people but I feel like there are plenty of people which stopped playing F1 World for the same reason.
