Re: F1® 24 [Megathread] Handling Feedback
I've been an avid fan of the game now since 2011 on the Xbox 360. I've played every version since then and I'm now playing across an Xbox One and Series X (cloud gaming) playing F1 24.
This is my own personal opinion, this years handling has gone to far the opposite direction compared to 22, it was just far to easy to go sideways in 22. When I first played F1 24, the handling reminded me of an old N64 F1 game where you could go full throttle more often and then it feels more like an arcade game.
I get a sense that F124 that you've tried to make it for people who play with a controller over a wheel. F1 23 handling was good on a controller but it was clear that people using a wheel had an advantage.
F1 24 feels like rallying handling over F1 handling. F1 23 needs to be the model but with tweaks to reduce the gap between wheel and controller users. Kerbs are better in 24, but all what feels like fake sliding in 24 wet weather doesn't feel authentic, again feels very arcade like.
People are finding tweaks with setup to make them faster, however that becomes unrealistic - I've seen people run with no down force and max ride height and the speed they achieve just is realistic. Same with people that tweak settings where they wheel spin out of corners with maximum revs - again it's just not how F1 drivers drive.
Modelling needs to go back to F123 with tweaks and consequences for wild unrealistic setups (i.e no down force).
What people want is a game that feels authentic and not like Forza.
