F1 24 - PS5 - Serious CROSSPLAY issue
Hey, I'm writing because I'm having some issues with the game and I want to know if I'm the only one experiencing this and what I can do to fix it.
So, here’s the deal: I’m playing on PS5, the game’s updated to the latest patch, and I’m properly connected to the internet (great connection), PSN servers, and my EA account.
F1 24 starts up just fine, but with crossplay turned on, when I get invited to a private multiplayer lobby, I almost never can get in.
Here are the usual outcomes:
- Total game crash
- The game freezes on “connecting to lobby…” for a while, then tells me I can’t join the session
- In rare cases, I manage to get into a lobby but get booted out after a few seconds, ending up in a new lobby by myself
Sometimes, and I mean really rarely, I can join a session without issues. When that happens, the game says my connection is good, and so far, I haven’t had any other problems during the event. Basically, once I’m in the lobby, everything runs smoothly.
I’ve tried accepting invites in every way possible—through in-game invites, the notifications on the PlayStation, and even by going to the profiles of the players who invited me (on PSN). I’ve restarted the game before accepting invites, turned crossplay off and on again, accepted invites with the game closed, and even switched my PSN status online/offline. I’ve even uninstalled and reinstalled the game multiple times.
Nothing has worked, and this issue has been ruining my experience with the game since it launched.
Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that out of all the drivers in our competitions, I seem to be the only one having this problem, which makes me think it’s something “off” with my game.
Has anyone else run into a similar issue? Is there any chance I could get some support from someone who can help me figure out what’s wrong and how to try to fix it?
Thanks for your attention
