New Fanatec Formula V3 wheel information

Fanatec has released a V3 update for its Formula V2.5 wheel with larger diameter and added features including revised controls and a larger display, avaialble now for PC and PS - XB version to come sometime later

The new display uses the existing Fanatec ITM module and functions to allow game telemetry to drive the display with additional info such as times, temps, position and other data as supported in a game - Not currently implemented in F1 25 on PS

I’ve found through testing that the current wheels with the ITM feature - the GT3 or Endurance w the PBME or the Gran Turismo Extreme will suffer FFB disconnects with F1 25 on the PS5 after 5-15 mins of driving. Don’t have the PC version so can’t confirm on PC

I’ve posted this in the bug section earlier. Whether its on EA or Fanatec to fix is unknown, but no other titles have this as a reported issue on PS or PC AFAIK so I’d guess Fanatec will point at EA

So if you are thinking of getting this wheel for the F1 series, this issue will likely be unresolved until the DLC drops or even F1 27 unless Fanatec decides to do an update or EA issues a new patch before then

    Hope this gets fixed soon cause I just ordered one. If you turn off itm will the gear or speed at least show with out causing ffb loss ?

    No way to turn off ITM from the wheel - the game controls it or the Fanatec app if running on PC

    As F1 25 does not currently use ITM, its not trying to control ITM, just sending something in the data that the wheel reacts to

    On PS don’t think you can turn it off as its not on by default and F1 25 is not using it anyway so not being turned on specifically

    The problem is something in the data stream to the wheel for either LEDs or the display that triggers it

    Not seen in other games so something like a stack overflow or some other flaw on the wheel code/fw

    I've also ordered the formula v3 wheel to play on F1 26 and I hope this will be fixed soon as I won't be able to use it at all...

    UPDATE: Testing on the new F1 26 pack seems to have resolved the issue.

    No crashes after an hr or so w my GT3/PBME/Phub which had the problem previously after 5-10 mins so the new Formula V3 is likely ok

    Hi Neil_RS60​ and thank you for the info, even if as an happy owner of a 2.5x I'm not planning to upgrade it soon, but this new display looks very nice. Let me understand pls, that display is not currently working on PlayStation F1 25 (F1 25 SP26), or I mean, not with the correct data, is that right? Thanks

    On PS5 its only speed displayed w ITM displays

    On PC you can use the app to recieve game telelmtry via UDP and fill the ITM display pages w data from the app’s features (or maybe w old fanalab as well) - its not directly from the game to the wheel
