1440p monitor not detected properly

When running F1 2021 on a PC with a 1440p monitor, the game only recognizes a 1200 X 1080 resolution (not 1200 but 12 - something).

Any idea why it would not recognize the correct resolution.

Graphic card is a RTX 3060. All other games have no problem detecting the correct it

  • Found the solution.

    I have 2 monitors, a 38" widescreen (main monitor) and a 1440p gaming monitor.

If I start the game with both monitors turned on, then I get the weird resolution.

If I turn off #1, then the 1440p becomes the main, and the game detects the resolution correct.

    Little clunky, but it works

Hey! I've accepted your previous message as the solution for this issue

While it seems that you found a workaround, if you want, could you send me the hardware_settings_config.xml and hardware_settings_info.xml files when the resolution is detected incorrectly? I haven't seen this issue before, so I'd like to take a look at what the game is outputting to these files in this situation.

It is also possible that you may be able to force the game to use one of the displays through that config file, without having to turn the other display off.

If you're not sure where to locate these files, they are found in C:\Users\<username>\Documents\"My Games"\"F1 2021"\hardwaresettings
