What is the F1Laps AI Difficulty Calculator?
It helps you find the best F1 22 AI difficulty level based on your best time trial laps.

How do I use it?

Set a lap in Time Trial using Equal Performance mode (this way lap times are comparable)
Enter your lap time in the AI Difficulty Calculator
Test it out in the game and adjust the difficulty as necessary

Where do you get your data from?
We have hundreds of thousands of F1 game laps across our users who use F1Laps to track their lap times. Based on this data, we compute each track's average AI lap time and difficulty level. This is what we use to compare against the lap time that you submit in the calculator.

Since the game was just released, some of our AI difficulty data is not perfect yet. The system automatically updates the data daily to improve its accuracy!

@FILaps Is the site updated to log data now as well? I tried yesterday but it still had the 21 track order.

Also, the 22 difficulty calculator was there yesterday and with some testing found it to be pretty much bang on the difficulties I've been using so far so this is very helpful. Thank you

Yes the site is updated for F1 22 data collection. If you've been using F1Laps with F1 2021 before, you need to switch the game version to F1 22 in your F1Laps profile settings. This will also switch the AI Difficulty Calculator to F1 22 as the default.

Great, thank you. I hadn't used it for 21 but did set it up Friday so guess it has logged me is as 21. I didn't realise I could change it in the settings.

@FILaps Last time you had an average ai level page with different to bezel, have u got the same for 22

Yes you can find the average AI difficulty levels by track article here (https://www.f1laps.com/articles/f12022/track-difficulty-averages/). It's still very early though and for some tracks we don't have a representative number of sessions yet. It will become more accurate over time! The article updates automatically on a daily basis.

@FILaps I'm not so sure on this, I have a 1:16.7 around Australia but it's telling me I should be on 110 AI, I'm struggling on 103 😅 the AI are so broken at the moment, hopefully we see a patch soon

Hey I calculation seems way off at Saudi Arabia. Difficulty setting told me 63. Go to Grand Prix first practice I'm 2 seconds faster than the second place car

Based on all data I've seen so far, a 1:16.7 around Australia should be a very high AI difficulty. As an example, the average Grand Prix qualifying result at 110 AI is ~1:17.200. As you said, there might still be selective AI performance inconsistency across game modes...
