Confirmed changes to my team / driver career mode
Hi there,
only one month left until the release of F1 22 and EA/Codemasters have released only very few information about my team / driver career mode. I unfortunately assume that this means there wont be any bigger changes in these modes. Nevertheless, there are some confirmed new features / improvements in different announcements and interviews and I would like to collect them in this thread.
Please only add confirmed or almost certain changes (e.g. if you could spot them in a video or picture without them being mentioned directly) here. I start with what I heard so far:
- New options to start my team: You can decide if you want to start as a newcomer team at the bottom, as a midfield challenger or title contender competing with the front runners from the beginning
- More meaningful department events: Your decision in department events will have longer lasting positive and / or negative impacts on your season. There most likely will also be escalations depending on your decisions over the season.
- Possibility to upgrade the performance of your pit crew: You can update your pit crew in the personnel facility in three steps (which will probably also influence the likelyhood of newly added pit errors)
- Smaller enhancements or changes to free practice sessions: Probably only some new practice programs to gain experience points adding more variety
- Sprint races will be available: The length of the sprint races will depend on your race length
- You can copy your color scheme in my team and chose the material of the livery
- Jeff is replaced by a new race engineer (former McLaren mechanic and media personality Marc Priestley)
- Some new Icons (e.g. Hülkenberg and Webber)
- General new features for all modes, which might change your my team/driver career experience like broadcast mode, manual pit stops and adaptive AI
Unfortunately, thats already all I got... What else do you know? What do you think about these changes?
