do i need ps plus to play in an F1 league?

do i need ps plus to play in an F1 league? Just got my ps5 and steering wheel. last ps i had was a ps2, so trying to navigate my way around ps5 and all the new features.

    Yes, league play is online and all online play on PlayStation requires PS+.
