SOLUTION, I believe..
The problem IS related to AVAST! (anti virus) and to solve the issue you need to turn the SHIELDS OFF (that's why also uninstalling the AV solves the problem as well - but simply turning the shields on/off is a better option) - here's how to do it:
- Right-click the Avast! tray icon:
- Hover the mouse over the 'Avast shields control' option and then left-click the 'Disable permanently' option:
- You should see a 'Component stop' blue screen asking "Are you sure you want to stop all shields?" - just click on "Ok, Stop":
- Then you should see a Windows Security popup screen - that's ok:
- Now you're ok to join Cross Play lobbies just fine again.
- When you're done playing, just turn the shields back on by right-clicking on the Avast! tray icon again, hovering the mouse over the 'Avast shields control' option and then left-clicking the 'Enable all shields' option (the number of shields may vary according to how many you have installed):
I also tried to turn off the shields manually and separately to try and isolate the 'problematic one', but it didn't work.
It only worked when I did according to the step-by-step process above.
Hope this helps, BUT I also hope EA can do something to avoid the cross play lobbies being blocked by Avast! - it was working fine until about 3 weeks ago, right until Patch 1.14 was released, so I believe it was something on that patch - I had NO Avast! updates since then (so it was not Avast!'s fault)..

@SexyBrigadeiroAVG here. Disabling the antivirus no more error PM7...but PM65539
😕Then I realized Nvidia has an update, and install that on my PC.
Restart the system and gave it a try again your approach, deactivating AVG, and it works
So thank you so much for this workaround. Hopefully, EA found the best approach (and also answer this thread) - SexyBrigadeiro3 years agoSeasoned Ace
I would suggest you to replace AVG by Avast! - I did that myself years ago and never looked back.
But, also as I said on my 'solution' post, this begun to happen after patch 1.14, so I believe it's something inside the GAME and not on our Anti-Virus - I mean.. something happened in the game (after Patch 1.14) that caused the anti-virus to 'block' our games from communicating with Cross Play lobbies properly.
For now, all we can do is to disable (or even uninstall) our AVs somehow, but I hope the devs 'fix' whatever they 'broke' in the game that started to cause this 'miscommunication' between the game and cross play lobbies, interfered by the AVs.
My solution is actually just a workaround to be honest...
- navarreitor3 years agoRising Traveler@SexyBrigadeiro I renew my subscription to AVG a few weeks ago, but I write a mental memo: AVAST next year

Fair enough - cheers! - navarreitor3 years agoRising Traveler
Perhaps you need to change this thread tittle
- Error Code: PM7 "Fsiked to join the session. No response from host neither from EA"
- SexyBrigadeiro3 years agoSeasoned Ace@navarreitor This is kind of a duplicated topic..
But in this one, I got a reply from one of the EA guys and they seem to accept my suggestion as a solution and they're also taking a look at the problem, to find a definitive solution (hopefully):

Well, I sadly regret to inform that THE ISSUE IS NOT SOLVED yet..
Not even using the solution presented here (by yours truly):
It actually worked just fine a few days ago, but then I just tried it again today (saturday, november 5th, 2022) and even with the Anti-Virus shields turned off, I had a hard time joining the cross play lobbies, getting the same PM7 or the PM65539 error message (seems to be related to connectivity issues) and even when I was able to connect to a cross play lobbies, I found 'broken' lobbies, like for example:
- Beginner Friendly lobbies with almost 20 people constantly 'loading', with 1 or 2 'real people' only (which were actually probably just bots) and the session would never advance..
- Beginner Friendly lobbies that had only 1 (one) track (Canada)
- Beginner Friendly lobbies with contact on (it should be off)
- Beginner Friendly lobbies that would take ages to load and would only move on after there was a 'migrating host' message and/or people would start to leave until there were only 3 or 4 people left..
Long story short:
Beginner Friendly Cross Play lobbies are NOT working properly.
I play the game on a PC, through Steam (Champions Edition), but some people from Play Station and X-Box (and probably Origin too) are also reporting similar experiences - the game can connect to the lobbies just fine if Cross Play is turned off though - which indicates the issue IS related to the cross play system..
It was all working fine until Patch 1.14 was released, so I tend to believe something on that patch 'broke' the cross play system somehow.
Sadly, there's nothing we can do other than turn cross play off if we want to play without too much stress, but that gives us only small lobbies with a lot less drivers to race against, making the whole cross pay feature kind of pointless..
Is there any solution!?
