In F1 22 the Level of Grip and Traction that cars have seems to be incredibly minuscule compared to f1 cars in sims such as Asseto Corsa, Iracing and even in real life:

This results in the player being forced to do extreme and unrealistic amounts of throttle control without any traction control which artificially raises the difficulty. To be clear, I am not saying that there should be no spinning or sliding, what I am saying is that currently, you spin way too easily.

Compared to sims such as Asseto Corsa you can see that there is a severe lack of grip, with cars in the f1 22 game losing grip incredibly easily, especially in corners such as Bahrain 11 and 12 (the long right-hander) where you abruptly just lose the tyres and crash out. The traction of the car seems to be disrupted too easily, and the car takes quite a bit of time to regain traction compared to sims and in actual f1.

In conclusion, I believe that currently, the game has taken a step back by making it even easier to spin out compared to last year (which was already unrealistic in its throttle control) and I think it's quite a shame as the handling feels miles better than last year, I hope that future updates will address this and if not then future instalment in the franchise.

From what I see, most of my points still stand about the grip. I understand that if the grip was just increased then lap times would be very quick but the current low level that it is at is incredibly tedious for driving and there are plenty of solutions to lower lap times while increasing grip, such as raising kerbs and more.

I understand that high loads on the tyres were reduced a lot last year and this year, but its far too unstable compared to real life and is way too easily lost IMO.

On Asseto Corsa, the comparison was based on the 2017 Car which was made as DLC for the game; I understand it will never be 1:1 but it is more realistic than the f1 games to actual f1 cars which is why I made the comparison as if a more accurate racing model could be made or the current one improved to become more sim like then racing could be made much more fun

@LittleAmigoBritI feel exactly the same way. I’m not sure if is my cheap G920 pedals but the rear has snapped out on me countless times when under 50% throttle. Some times I feel like I’m driving in the wet. Standing starts are more difficult as well. Starting revs need to be around 8-9k.

A change that could be made is to reduce downforce so that cornering speed is reduced, but due to the increased grip, there would be minimal change to the cornering speed.

Traction isn't often a problem for esports guys since they've spent and will continue to spend hundreds upon hundreds if not thousands of hours into the game as it is their job, so they will master it to a level which the casual person will not.

However, despite this one of the big pros of increasing grip would be a more realistic game which would replicate real-life experiences closer than it is currently doing

@JebeFIN Another thing i forgot to mention is that Starts seem to be ridiculously difficult and spinny in the f1 game series in general compared to other games which include f1 cars and real life, so increasing grip and reducing spin would also improve this issue and allow for a better start system

@Meza994  Yes but if downforce is reduced then lap time is lost on medium and high-speed corners while being regained in low-speed corners meaning the overall change to lap speeds should not be very big while traction and grip is improved.

Also, the reason why I provided the telemetry data of an f1 driver is to show the difference between the game and real-life in how the throttle application is done, and how if you tried to replicate it you would most certainly spin out. It had nothing to do with casuals, and the reason why esport pros can be compared with casuals while f1 drivers can't is that casuals and esport pros play the exact same game, while a casual does not actually drive an f1 car while an f1 driver does
