With HDR turned to on or auto, the menu looks very washed out. This is fixed by turning off HDR but obviously you want HDR on for the game.

So, i managed to fix this for me on Windows 11 to make HDR work after hours of trying to fix it i found a solution! So for those coming in and looking for a fix for this issue, here it is:>Go into folder where game is located, for me "steamapps\common\F1 22">Right click the F1_22.exe and then go to options>Go to compability and apply "Use legacy display ICC color management" and saveNow HDR should be working, this probably applies to Windows 10 also. This is as i understand a bug between some apps using Srgb color Gamut. This will fix it.

This is likely due to a settings mismatch between your TV and console.

Make sure that your settings for HDR and RGB Range are the same on both your TV and console.

Same as F1 2021 and 2020 - The 2D art in the game has not been correctly mastered for HDR meaning it shows as very washed out while the game looks as it should. Prime example are the characters on the grid position animation or during the end of race results.

Hi Barry - Thanks for the reply but this is almost certainly a different issue. I've experienced the issue as you mention above but mine only relates to the in-race 2D art. My main menus are fine.
The driver portraits haven't been mastered for HDR display.

Okay so your expertise says that various people have the SAME problem, on different TV’s, maybe different devices as consoles, and so on.

the only thing that’s the same is F1 22 on HDR that’s washed out. On my QLED the same and buddy on OLED the same. Coincidence?? Both PS5???

So no it’s not OUR devices or tv’s, it’s the game. (What a surprise) something with if it walks like a duck….

Have Series X and a good TV... no HDR issues.
Have you check you console settings about HDR?
There is a setting page who shows you all possible HDR/FPS... settings.

@dangerman74 On PS5 it’s simply busted, since every other game is perfect but on 22 the menu looks washed out. Has nothing to do with console nor tv because then it would be on all others also.

HDR on the PS5 doesn't seem to work properly. It seems like its over exposed. The game actually looks better with HDR off.

I saw the same problem and F1 22 doens't have a slider to adjust NITs like f1 2021.

Same issue on my side, the menus in race weekend settings look washed out.
Checked everything on PS5 and LG OLED B8 but nothing helps. In F12021 I only had the issue that the broadcast in Practise and Qualifying looked washed out and darker. The settings were ok at least.
