@RemWal96 Im not sure why you are suprised. its brake assist. it generally brakes at moments where you should be on the throttle, and sometimes you are already flat out whilst others with BA enabled are still on brakes.
obviously it slows you down and you cannot be as fast as without, thats the point of it. All assists apart from ABS make you slower.
