Re: Cockpit vs TV Pod?

What you guys are describing are the effects of playing with a different point of view and different FOV's. Tons of materials online on how that can make it "easier" as it alters our perception of speed, among other things.

The physics and the handling run by the game are exactly the same irrespectively of camera choice though.

  • @mariohomoh I totally agree.

The FOV of Cockpit view has just increased my enjoyment of the game, ...but I'm sure that the car handles just the same whether in Cockpit or TV Pod view.

@Albert_Park_ Yep, camera settings are great and contribute a lot to our experience.

I for one love camera movement related to road surface. Like track camber and elevation. Turning them on in GT7 increased my enjoyment (and laptimes) significantly! A bunch of players swear they just make them slower though. It just shows how there's no one size fits all.

For an even more jarring comparison, just try lapping your favorite track in Chase cam 👌

For those that are using tv pod… change camera settings…. Decrease fov -10 as a baseline then adjust by 1 until you find sweet spot..: promise you it will reduce lap times

Look up marcel Keifers f1 22 you tube videos.  Camera settings for best settings… all the worlds  best f1 series drivers use a variation off those settings..  His are best fit for me

  • Just my opinion.

For the worlds best F1 Series Racers, and for the official F1 E-Sports Competition to get my respect and interest, I wish that they would do 100% Race Distance, and use Cockpit view.

I use cockpit view for every track except Monaco. At Monaco I’ll use the TV pod.

I’ve only ever driven in cockpit view since the very first iteration of this game back in 2009 on the Wii. I was a lone cowboy when joining a league the following year when it came out on console and everyone thought I was mad using that view and no assists. But, gradually over the seasons one by one everyone joined me and agreed that the immersion is just so much greater and gives that much better realism feel. The other views just don’t cut it.

yeah the cockpit view should be used in esports as mandatory..like real drivers do,they have VR now so no more excuse of not seeing better
