To be fair to CM, if you reported this a month ago I can't see how they would have gotten the revised kerbs in todays release. Do report the issue for F1 23 because I don't expect any changes like this in this years edition.
All they should've done is just to raise the height of the kerbs, and boom ,it's fixed. There's no way I could've reported the issue earlier, because there was no gameplay of F1 22 up until I reported it. They also didn't fix the Baku castle section, which shouldn't have the kerb on the left turn, yet it's there, and it would take a solid 1 hour or less to remove that kerb from there.
It's not acceptable that some tracks are still unchanged after 5-6 years, take Hungaroring for example, the chicane kerb is still not fixed after 6 years. And it has been reported multiple times. So don't come here blaming me for not reporting it earlier, and please don't defend CM.

Are we sure that TC isn't on in that video? Or mods? Damage settings? In my limited time with the game this morning before work I dont see how you can drive over the curbs like that without either damaging the car, or spinning out. If people thought the curbs were slippery last year, wait until this year especially if you're on the throttle. Now I didn't run any laps at COTA so I can't say specific to this track, but heck T1, and the final turn at the Red Bull Ring just clipping those curbs were damaging my floor, or spinning me out. That little esses section before the final two turns if you take those sweeping corners and hit the curbs on the throttle you'll find yourself spinning rather quickly.
So maybe this is something to do with the settings in this video. I'll admit though I didn't get much time to test the new handling, but the cars do feel heavier, and they certainly have far less traction than last year with TC off, or even on medium. So people who weren't happy with the slippery feeling of F1 21 certainly will have lots to complain about with F1 22.
I just find this video weird, because in austria, and France I certainly couldn't drive over curbs like that without damaging the floor, or spinning. Mind you again; limited experience with the game and new handling model, and i play with a controller also. Maybe on my lunch break I'll fire up a few laps at COTA, but I've got to be careful with my time here because to me I'm not sure F1 22 is worth the purchase as of yet compared to F1 21, and the lack of save slots again this year has me strongly considering keeping my money.
- fastrevenge634 years agoNew Adventurer@petro1319 The game is a few hours old, I'm not sure how there would be mods. Damage setting doesn't affect car behaviour. TC only affect throttle control, not car behaviour.
I get what you are saying, but this video shows that it isn't the case. He can go over the kerbs with his wheel, and he drives over them like it's not there. I'm not sure about the damage by going over these kerbs, and that's not what I want to know, because he drives in TT, I'm just commenting on the car behaviour. The only issue is that the kerb is not high enough, so it doesn't matter that the kerb is there.
Take the new red Australia kerb for example, if you drive over that, your car slightly jumps in the air, the way it should be in COTA too.

@DukeOfAntwerpThis change wouldn't take at least a month to finish, stop defending their laziness lolStop pretending you are a game dev lol
If you reported this one month ago and it would made it to todays release I would not trust CM anymore. You can't just make changes and push it out in a build. These thing need testing so stop being so lazy yourself and start informing yourself how video games are made. The build we play today is older than one month

I wish the mods could make a flair out of this one! 🤣
Thank you for being reasonable 💗

@DukeOfAntwerpI'm not pretending that, I learn game development, I know roughly how long something takes or not. Testing the simplest thing doesn't take more than a week .And you are so wrong. How would the build that we play today is older than one month??
I have no idea what you mean by that. The Miami kerb at S3 got added in a recent patch. In WIP state the kerb was missing in creator videos, but right now it's there after release, which means there was an update less than 1-2 weeks ago. ANd testing out new kerbs doesn't take more than a week, stop lying to yourself.
They could copy-paste Abu Dhabi kerbs to COTA, and it would still work, and be better than what we have right now. And answer to the main point of what I am saying, don't pick out a random sentence and answer to that. And I'll repeat, since you seem to ignore what I say, Hungaroring's chicane has been changed in real life back in 2014-2015. People reported this change every year to CM, asked them to change the chicane so it would be just like real life. Guess what, 8 years later, they still haven't updated it, yet we asked them every year. But surely it's my fault for not reporting the issue earlier

@Tibi2199Ok tell me now which games you will be making in the future so I can avoid those game at all times because you don't seem to have a clue of game development.
Regarding what you said about the Hungaroring already answers why it's weird to assume that something you reported 1 month ago would be done by release date.

@Tibi2199 is actually right, this would be a relatively simple scaling fix on both the visual and the collision meshes. I'm talking minutes. Clearly not something that should take months or years to update.
