Issue: my force feedback significantly drops midway through a session. Typically a few laps after I start an online race or roughly half an hour into a time trial session. When I turn my wheel off and on again the issue temporarily fixes but then the force feedback rate drops again. I’ve looked at the driver update notes but I am unable to update my driver as I believe that fix was PC only.
I have the same issues on Series X with TMX. My firmware has been updated to latest (V17) and issue still persists. I have had the same issues on F1 2021. One of my buddies also has experienced the same thing since F1 2021 and it makes racing in our league very frustrating when FFB randomly cuts out mid race.
I have a similar problem but on PS4 with a T300. First of all, I think that the force feedback itself is really low and doesn't work properly since I have all the ffb settings to the maximum and still feels really weak and sometimes I barely feel anything. Also, during the races I start the first laps feeling a little bit of force and vibration and then I suddenly lose all the forces, it's like the force feedback fades out and it's impossible to drive like that, without any vibration or feelings of the car.
My forcefeedback always goes as good as away after 6 laps ingame its verry gamebreaking forme everytime it happens i lose the back end im on ps5 and the steering wheel is updated to latest firmware etc and always fan mode is on so there is nooo way it is overheating
Same issue on my ps5 + T300rs. When I start the race I have decent ffb but few laps later it's as good as gone. Been an issue since f1 2020 for me ☹️
Same issue for me using the Thrustmaster Tx 458 Italia Edition on Xbox Series X. I don't suffer with low force feedback but it will randomly cut out completely mid-race. It often seems to happen after a pit stop. I seem to be able to temporarily fix it by turning the wheel off and on again, but I can't exactly do this easily during an online race.
I have the same issues on the same setup. Very frustrating to say the least.
Has this issue ever been acknowledged? I've spent a decent amount of money on a Thrustmaster wheel and F1 add-on, only for FFB to completely cut out midway through a corner sending me into a wall.
A friend of mine is having this on his Thrustmaster. Seemed ok initially but had the issue on 2021 and now it's back. Ffb just completely drops out.
Concerning as I was considering saving for an upgrade from my g920 but don't fancy losing ffb halfway through a race
It's the wheel base overheating what is causing that (unless it's 100% gone suddenly, that has happened me once and is a different thing). Note! it doesn't feel that warm, but it's the cause and intended feature in these bases in any case.
I have the game on both steam /PC and series X and I have used my TX wheelbase with both quite a bit now. If you have default FFB settings on PC (both in game and on thrustmaster drivers), it's about the same as you would set the FFB overal forces on xbox to 25% (you read that right, I'm no kidding!), that's how much lighter the FFB is on defaults on PC compared to Xbox on this wheelbase, even though the values in the game are indentical (and I think it's probably the same for all thrustmaster wheelbases). With the default values on xbox, it overheats eventually.
So, just drop the overal forces to be much lower in the game (I have used 25-40). You should also use the "fan always on" mode on the base (see thrustmaster support for guides how to set it).
If it's really hot where you play, better to set it 25% or close probably and hope for the best.
ps. I wouldn't necessary blame CM/EA of this problem, might not be really their fault at all.
