I'm just sharing my observations, hoping someone can work it out. That was just what I felt was happening in Hungary. But after what you said about Spa, I had to see what happened there using the same settings and AI and the default set up again, so we are all the same as far as I'm aware. And I do know about the wear being x2 on 25%.
Starting in Hungary, I've done it at 75 as that's around where I qualify around my TM on a few tracks (including Hungary as show in qualifying pic), but it's 15 lower than last year when I was up to 90 but full TC this year and not medium, might have something to do with that, but never had it at 100, don't think I'd be competitive. I got my 5-second penalty when Norris had a lunge from nowhere, but there were a few times I had to position my car in the right place to make them back off a little and keep some behind. But a lot of hard work, as those in front just pulled away (race result pics)
I'll post the remaining times in the next post and then go to Spa.
My final lap times and K-Mags. Towards the end he was able to keep at 1.22 while I was close to 1.24
Now Spa. Same AI and settings for the race. Wasn't expecting this at all, put the Haas into 3rd 2+ seconds ahead of K-Mag. And should have been faster but messed my final lap up. Managed to stay in 3rd but might have been 2nd but for a little mistake on lap 8 and beat K-Mag by 19 seconds. But a 25% test round Spa isn't long enough to see how tyres performed, but It seemed a lot better, but that's cos the car was performing. I was in the top 5% in the weekly round Spa over the weekend.

- @DRudd13 On fast tracks we humans seem to be faster. And slow tracks the ai have the pace.
I’m only average, due bad eyes bad fingers and bad age.😀 but I know most off the tracks intimately. So where I lack overall pace I’m as consistent as a metronome.
Why we faster on fast tracks. Ai is slow into and through corners. And with less slow corners compared to fast it can’t dominate us over a lap.
Slow tracks lots off tight corners for it to power out off and average racers using a pad are lambs to the slaughter
