The one that gets me the most is players completely unwilling to drop the difficulty and instead blame a "broken" game, despite it being repeatedly stated the AI is much faster this year. Probably the easiest fix out of everything right now, but people are too proud to drop the number.
Player 1: The game's broken
Player 2: Why?
Player 1: AI are too fast
Player 2: Drop the difficulty then
Player 1: What? No!
Player 2: Why?
Player 1: Because my mate is on 103
Player 2: So?
Player 1: It'll make me feel inadequate
Player 2: Wtf?
The problem with dropping difficulty is that it ruins the racing since the AI is very slow in corners then and only makes up time on the straights.
You pull away in every corner, they get back at you at the straights because of their advantage.
This is not balanced.
- @PBR3491 This isn't what I'm experiencing, I've been playing at 95 since 2016, had to drop it to 65 this year and it feels balanced. Able to overtake using ERS and DRS (driving a Williams) and I've had some terrific battles with Albon and Stroll.
This is in Driver Career mode, I've seen people refer to the straight-line thing as "the MyTeam bug", so perhaps the MyTeam car is really draggy. Perhaps it'll improve with car development. Remember the 2017 McLaren? Could be the same situation.The MyTeam car is proper crap in terms of aerodynamics/drag but as of now my myteam Car is for example top of the notch when it comes to engine power/aero (drag reduction) (because i specifically devloped these areas in Season 1). Yet i can not compete with the AI on straights on "my" difficulty (meaning i am as fast in corners or slightly faster depending on setup). If i lower the difficulty to be as fast as the AI over 1 lap on some tracks there is literally no racing. They can not overtake me because they stand no chance in the corners and i can not overtake them because i stand no chance on the straight. And in qualy i am usually unchallenged P1 with lower difficulty.
Theres a huge balance issue in my opinion. The good thing is, on PC, you can at least run mods that fix this issue. Thats what i am doing when i come home. Worked in 1.05, created awesome racing on an even playing field matching the RD Performance.
Just to clarify, though, I'm not getting at people with legitimate issues - I completely understand that and I know how it feels to spend a ton of cash that hasn't lasted a month's worth of enjoyment. I was referring to the small portion of people who scream like children and won't try anything to work around something out of stubbornness or denial that perhaps they need to admit that the game is harder this year and have to compromise.
While I previously stated that I had dropped to 65 and had good battles, overall I am still really unhappy with the game and stopped playing it yesterday. I've done a lot of bug reporting (sadly including bugs that existed for F1 2021, I reported them on the old forum and obviously they were ignored - proper reports, by the way, not just a paragraph with a whine), but there's just so many bugs that keep popping up that I've given up. It's overwhelming. There is too much wrong with the game, little things here and there, adding up and making the whole experience unpleasant. Unenjoyable, yes and, to contradict what I previously said, perhaps unplayable too. You can't play it because you can't enjoy it. I get it.
And worse still that while I'm lucky enough to have the game on PC and therefore have the ability to mod, some of the bugs just cannot be fixed by modding due to Codemasters closing the more important files off some years ago. If this was F1 2012, on top of it having dynamic localized weather, which I loved, the entire game was moddable. Right down to the chances of each driver making mistakes.I might just go back to that one, to be honest.

- @R1ckyDaMan19 I think the term "unplayable" is a knee-*, throw-hands-up-in-the-air-in-frustration term that's too easily used. It should really be "unenjoyable". The game is "playable", it runs, but they're not enjoying it.
To be fair, there is a fair amount of the game I too find unenjoyable compared to previous years. At the moment, it's 50% races having the AI only do Medium to Hard 1 stop strategies every single race. I've reported it as a bug, because there was a nice mix of strategies prior to the patch.
And I'm not even going to start on F1 Life... (please get rid of it).@R1ckyDaMan19 Come on. Stop trolling. Go somewhere else to j*** o**. You exactly know what its about. Use whatever term you want to. Unplayable, unenjoyable... blablabla... I think I made my point clear in a very long message. its about the GAMEPLAY - of course you can play the game by pressing the start button and yes you a very right i recognized bugs, changes etc.. because I am playing F1 for quite some years now... If we start to discuss about terms in this forum with people from all over the world we should also have some tolerance level to language barriers and try to understand the message and not flip words around. But if we keep discussing on this level (flipping terms)... yeah have fun - and keep smiling in your mirror by trolling 🙂
