You probably have joystick drift, happened to me the other day, i had the same issue, my players started passing backwards all of the sudden, then i swap the stick module (PS5 EDGE controller) to the right side (to see if it was drift) and they were doing dribbles by themselves, so it was definitely stick drift
I’ll try that, I take it the only resolution is to get a new controller or can the PS5 controllers be recalibrated?
You might be able to send it back to Sony if it’s under warranty. When I did it I had to ship it to them which it would be nice if they would do it both ways but they didn’t. Maybe it’s changed now though not sure.
Ive read somewhere about adjusting the dead zones of the joystick (im not sure what that means nor how to do it) but like the guy below said, if it still under warranty you can send it back to Sony and they should send you a new one, because sniping PS5 Edge controller joystick modules is almost impossible, i was able to get 2 from Amazon at like $49.99 each, its ridiculous

1) I’ve reset my controller
2) I held both joysticks in different positions for 10 seconds
3) I cleaned around the joysticks using a cotton bud and isopropyl alcohol.
I’ve now played 5 games since and the problem hasn’t resurfaced.
