2. No, L1 and L2 + R2 are NOT usable now, they are so incredibly slow and have such a high ball control loss frequency it's useless even with Bernardo Silva.
3. This is a GAME, not real life, and it will never be. It's childish, immature, stupid and unreal to believe that this has to be a simulator and in reality, dribbling is so much faster and so much frequent and easier, so in both ways it is NOT right, it's not a faithful representation of reality, and it's not fun. You are only trying to force your own perception of a simulator to make things slower because you can't guess your rival's next direction.
4. Given that it's stupid to want it to be a boring and dull simulator of a reality that doesn't exist, what it really should feel like in dribbling is arcade, and guess what, that's what Winning Eleven's dribbling was and it's how japanese soccer games were all designed to feel like, arcadey dribbling.
In the end, there should be a middle ground and people were just fine with L1 dribbling before this last patch, now it's a hard uncontrollable sweat fest.
How can this be a sim when all premier cards have +15 pace than the real players actually in real life lol. From that point onwards it's stupid to talk about it being faithful to reality, I agree it's just a game and games are meant to be fun, not boring. Not square and dull.
This blue166 guy doesn't seem to have played the newest patch. Try both things in this new patch first.

I see what you guys are saying.
I may have read the first post a little to quickly in a rush and replied without double checking what you were referring too.
I thought I read that the Jerky stick dribbling was toned down. My bad.
Though I would still go with the representation (within reason of a sim)
To the other poster about UT cards and stat boosts etc... - My point exactly is that UT is arcade.
I am a Seasons player hence the want for sim like football. The occasional 0-0 isn't a bad thing. Same with tight low scoring games.
Winning Eleven/PES did have a loser dribbling mechanic but it didn't destroy defending. PES 6 was almost perfect. If it wasn't for the edge of the box shot and Adriano.
P.S I have played since the patch.
But I get where you are now coming from.

I am glad you can see what is evident, it shows that you are not short minded and hopefully EA will see this and act, because there isn't anything on their media about this.

It is not worse, it is just way more difficult to execute efficiently, I have learnt that PROPER USE of all these categories (left stick(LS), analog sprint, and the right stick(RS)) properly allows you to make more accurate, faster and intricate dribbles.
To ask what I mean by PROPER USE is that the first category to understand how to proper use of the left stick brings in two parts, the first is to learn how to push the left stick slightly to gain more control over the ball which makes sense because to learn to push the LS slightly consistently shows you have control over your LS because it is much harder to push the LS slightly compared to pushing the stick all the way out where the control barrier is preventing you from further going out compared to preventing yourself from pushing the control further out, second part is to learn how and when to click your LS this activate your players balance and plants themselves to the spot more so you are harder to push off the ball but its effectiveness is have dependent by how much you push the left stick out. Second you understand how to deaccelerate and accelerate with analog sprint on you can make more control turns just like when you race a car. Thirdly is to know how to make micro knock ons by slightly flicking the right stick.
When you learn how to combine these with your binary dribbling inputs (Strafe dribbling and controlled sprint) and agile dribbling you can develop much more controlled dribbles.
- blue1662 years agoSeasoned Veteran@OfentseTsoka I would also say that it is more rewarding now when executed properly. It was made too easy before and no thought went into dribbling. It was just dribbling all the down the pitch and Jerky movement. EA needed to tighten it up and make it an actual skill to pull off.
It is much better now. If you know you know.
It does still work but more skill needed to pull off.
And as I said before. The game is a sim rightly so.
