Hello, I am experiencing an issue where I can not change my monitor refresh rate. It is currently stuck at 60Hz and it is causing a lot of stuttering, input lag fps drop etc. I have tried editing the FCSETUP.ini document but the settings are not changing at all.
Monitor can go up to 165Hz, nvidia rtx 3060, i7-10875H, 32gb ram.
I already updated nvidia drivers, tried reinstalling the game etc, still nothing.
How is this possible from EA? I see so many people having the same issue for the past 3-4 days and still no update to fix it. We all paid to have early access and I can not even play the game because of their poor optimisation.
After playing around with different settings for 2 hours I've found the best ones, so I'd like to spread the word and help someone with laggy, bad looking gameplay.
NVIDIA control panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Program Settings -> EA FC 24 (if it doesn't show up automatically you can find the .exe manually)
Max Framerate 999
Power Management Mode -> Prefer Maximum Performance

This is a guide I used, went from framey 60 FPS to smooth and butterlike gameplay at 75 FPS and is constant, no random drops of FPS
"full screen"... so you don`t have any problem with mouse cursor that intervenes in the game and in the menu?

- @roonelos editing from FCSETUP.ini to 144hz wont show up in ingame settings, it will show as 60hz although its running in 144hz, only thing is if you edit via FCSETUP.ini make sure you dont change anything in display settings or it will get reset, and yea even if its on 144hz there will still be shutters, what i did was turn of vsync ingame and exit game, FCSETUP.ini = 240hz save and start the game, also off vsync in nvidia panel or set to adative, the game runs little better

Nope, my refresh rate is lock at 60hz on PC. Who do i send my DxDiag?

After hours of trying and reinstalling, I have now found my solution. I always had sound stuttering and image lag.
I don't know if this existed in Windows 10, but one of the following worked for me:
-Energy setting (maximum performance)
- Disable variable refresh rate (Windows 11)
- Optimization for window games (disable)
Both found under the following item in Windows:
System > Screen > Graphics > Default Graphics Settings.-FC24.exe (Properties, open as administrator)
I hope it works for you. I don't have a single lagg anymore and the framerate is constant at 120 FPS.This was a post about getting the game to let you change from 60hz because it is locked there for some people. Your post has nothing to do with that.
