Agree with the majority of what you said in your post. To optimize the play of user AI controlled players during matches, you also need to finetune the tactics and player instructions. For some reason this year, EA has decided to make user configuration changes as difficult as possible for gameplay interactions, responses, and game flow, with minimal effect on user or AI controlled players. Best suggestion, formulate your own slider configurations under the 'Custom' slider settings, utilizing the only default simulation sliders offered by EA that are functioning properly, while testing different values for the other options.
Unfortunately, the game came with several bugs. When you try to change your own tactics, such as manually adjusting the defensive line, the game simply doesn't save. Now, the simulation mode has a cool idea, but EASPORTS still needs to adjust the sliders, especially in the midfield and attack. As I said, the players from the midfield forward move slowly, creating very few opportunities, and rarely escaping the markings of the opposing players, moving in a dumb way and reminding a lot of the horrible gameplay of the E-Football dolls in many moments. Besides, as I said, it seems like they run with their legs tied to a rope. Speed in real life is a very important factor for a soccer player. Otherwise, we would have players who are 50 or 55 years old still playing at a high level and playing professional soccer.
Fix these sliders in the EASPORTS simulation mode.
As for the bug of not saving most of the tactical changes, I already mentioned the manual adjustment of the defensive line in another topic, but in a separate video, it simply doesn't save.
