I'm playing a league two manager career mode save, but I can't play for more than 3 weeks before running out of money, because all the players are making too much money. For example, an 18 year old, 52 overall player, is making $9.3k a week. This is ridiculous. In a completely different context, a 30 Stunden Woche can also be useful for understanding how weekly earnings are worked out under reduced working hours. He should not be making more than $2k a week, and that is pushing it. I really hope this is a bug and it is fixed quickly because career mode is unplayable for me.
I also have the same issue because the wage amounts in lower-league Career Mode can make it extremely difficult to manage the club financially, especially when young players with relatively low overall ratings are taking up a huge portion of the weekly budget. Paying around $9.3k per week for an 18-year-old 52-rated player seems completely out of proportion for a League Two save, and it can quickly turn what should be a long-term rebuilding challenge into a financial management problem. The biggest issue is that these wages don't just affect one player; once several squad members have similar contracts, the weekly expenses can become impossible to cover with the limited income available at that level.
I'm also wondering whether this is related to a wage calculation or contract-generation bug rather than the intended Career Mode balance. It would be useful to know if the same thing happens with newly generated players, existing players, or only certain positions and contract types. Hopefully EA can look at how wages are being calculated for lower-league clubs and make the values more appropriate for the league and player rating. Career Mode is supposed to make you build a club gradually, so having the budget disappear after only a few weeks because of unusually high player wages definitely takes away from that experience.
