Career Mode is still broken imo. Some good ideas this season that miss the mark by some distance.
The UI is horrific. Truly. Probably the worst one so far. A labyrinth of boxy, convoluted options that needs massively refined.
Persistence with repetitive, stupid cutscenes - It was fun for the first few times when it was added years ago, but I'm sick of having to go through it for every single signing/contract negotiation/press conference/etc. Give me the old simplistic career mode menus!
Youth Academy is bugged. Some attributes are broken. A lot of the players look like alien children with monobrows who never physically change after turning 16.
The style-of-play/hiring coaches element is poor and ultimately irrelevant. Should be removed imo. The new tactics options are decent (although they succumb to the same horrific UI issues), but this should be the model going forward.
The new social media element feels pointless. Very rarely noticeable/relevant when the game is progressing through days. Probably more to do with terrible UI.
The rush tournaments also feel poorly thought out. Would rather do actual Youth training games/mini games.
The new options to cater to the experience you want are decent, but also unsurprisingly broken. For example, if you disable the training element, your players will never gain any match sharpness.
Problem we have is that EA will never just dive in and fix things with Career Mode. It make zero financial sense to fix anything that isn't UT. We'll just have to complain about it for the whole year and wait for a new game to hope they finally get it right.
So yet again, too many misses and too many bugs. Not sure why you think they deserve a "well done", but hey, each to their own.
