For starters, I hope you've changed your password since then because only you should have access to your EA account.

But it was a helpful troubleshooting tip, because at least we know that whatever's wrong, it's local and with/on your PC. Have you tried the steps in this article to delete any update files that could be causing issues? I believe these get left behind if the game itself is uninstalled, it might be worth a try.
