Forum Discussion
Thanks for starting this discussion, as there are several ongoing issues with FC and what is meant to be a true football/soccer simulation. The game can be improved just not in a way that will ever satisfy everyone’s personal vision of how it should be played.
First and foremost, EA needs to address the server issues. This has been an ongoing problem for years, and it’s incredibly frustrating that it still hasn’t been resolved. Consistent gameplay simply isn’t possible when server performance is so unreliable.
Secondly, hackers remain a major concern. Once again, this is not a new issue, yet it continues to go largely unaddressed. Considering the massive revenue the game generates, it’s difficult to understand why stronger action hasn’t been taken. At the very least, there should be an in game reporting feature. I’ve personally faced opponents whose teams felt unnaturally boosted, while my own players felt heavy, slow, and unresponsive throughout the match.
Third, the online matchmaking and skill gap are problematic. For a game that aims to be a simulation, skill moves are far too overpowered, while defensive reactions feel painfully slow. Forcing competitive controls on all players and removing jockey speed control only worsens the imbalance rather than improving fair play.
Lastly, the game increasingly feels like it’s being designed primarily for pro players, who make up a very small percentage of the overall community. Competitive controls are now forced instead of optional, limiting how players can enjoy the game. On top of that, players are continually pushed to buy packs, even as gameplay quality declines after updates and pack rewards become less appealing. It’s hard not to feel that this approach is contributing to a drop in the active player base.
