The concept of tokens is good, but the implementation is lacking. In order to get anything worth your time, you are forced to play rivals/champs. For me, these modes have been unplayable in the majority of matches for months due to server delay. So, I play Rush & Squad Battles, but the rewards for these are just not good enough. To top it off, you no longer get currency rewards from these, which further locks you out of the open market.
I also agree with the sentiment that there are too many currencies to grind. The game feels like a mobile gotcha game now. It isn't intuitive. This, coupled with the huge volume of objectives, makes the game feel stressful. The game feels like a 2nd job at this point, and I wonder what's the point in playing; if the gameplay is bad and the only means of getting packs forces you into the poor gameplay?
