Unexpected events not occurring??

So I have been playing career mode using Chelsea with unexpected events turned on to the medium option. This is my second play through (first one for to January and did not have a single unexpected event) and now I am in January again on my 2nd play through and still nothing. Has this happened to anyone else? Can I expect something to occur during the season? I only ask as everyone else I know playing career mode has already had 1 or 2 things happen in less time. Please could someone let me know. Thank you
