2/3 player clubs (no any)
I feel, yet again, if you play clubs without a any, the game experience is badly inconsistent. Same old issues are being completely ignored. Bot defending can be hit and miss at best. Main problems, yet again, come from bots completely opening up against speedsters, unresponsiveness from the press button and bot inability to do anything when opponents hold down the controlled dribble button. Combined with the near unstoppable corner counters and constant number mismatch when hitting promotion games ( 2 v 4 or more players is a joke) it's making the mode, this far, frustrating.
Now for reference, I've played clubs since it's inception. While I do agree that earlier interactions made certain issues way too overpowered I do feel that from a non comp view clubs has been ignored for the large part again. I also don't want the game to be easy. Clubs is supposed to be the fantasy sim format.
Some suggestions:
Remove controlled dribbling from clubs. I get why it's in UT. But bot backing off for players without an Any feels awful. Having to have an attacker drop back because the AI can't figure it out is ludicrous.
Improve defending AI off the ball positioning. Corner counters are almost always unstoppable. 2 defenders Vs 3/4 attackers is a regular occurrence. Allow the pressure button to actually work instead of defenders stopping or running away when an attack is level. They find the gap and beat the line, fine no problem, but they give it up way too easy.
Improve match making options. Why do we have match team size so open on the parameters? 2 players, in my opinion would only ever get matched to a 3 man max. We've experienced 2 v 4, 5 and 6 way too often.
AI players running in a straight line across the pitch jogging and losing the ball has to stop. AI is way too ignorant of calls made and too frequently kills momentum. On the flip side attacking players tend to run into dead end situations or slam random balls to nowhere too often.
There's plenty more I'm sure that can be added but right now these are my biggest concerns.
Actually show you care about clubs and stop treating is a spare part. Again don't want it easy just want it fair.
