Do you think it's harder to get a good team to transfer as a defender?

I've been stuck with AS Roma for 3 straight seasons, have you guys wondered if the old system of transfers worked better than this one?

Because I remember clubs messaging me saying how they needed a defender, instead of you playing a whole season without moving to another club if you don't meet their requirements to join, but in the old version you would get a transfer/loan offer depending if the manager of your club deems you nonplus for the current team.

Why did EA change the transfer system in Career Mode?
