20 years playing this. This is the worst state I’ve ever seen.
I’ve been playing this franchise for almost 20 years. Since the early FIFA days.
So let’s be clear:
I know exactly what this game has become.
I’ve seen it evolve.
I’ve seen when things started to shift.
And I’ve seen people around me quit 8–10 years ago because they realized much earlier than I did where this was going.
I kept buying it every year anyway.
Why? Because even with all the issues, it still gave me some moments of fun.
Not anymore.
What happened today
Today I played around 10 matches. Normal session.
In 3 different matches:
I was losing
I turned the game around
I was about to score the goal that would kill the game
And right at that moment, the game crashes.
Same message every time:
“EA Javelin Anticheat detected an unacceptable configuration.”
This NEVER happened to me before today.
And it’s not random:
Not when I’m losing
Not at the start
Not mid-game
Only when I’m about to win.
And it gets worse
After a match, you can normally check “recent players” to see who you played against.
In these matches?
Those players are gone.
No ID. No trace. Nothing to report.
So:
The game crashes at the exact moment I’m about to win
The anti-cheat gives a vague, useless error
The opponent disappears from history
That’s not just a bug. That’s a complete failure of the system.
Let’s talk about what this game has become
Anyone who has played this long enough knows.
Call it scripting, call it momentum, call it whatever you want.
We’ve all had those matches where:
The opponent is clearly weaker
Yet wins every duel
Their players move perfectly without input
Every rebound goes their way
Shots go in no matter the angle
You can feel when the game is not in your control.
People have been talking about this for years.
Some learned to deal with it.
Some adapted.
Some quit.
But this? This is a new level.
Now we’re not just talking about questionable gameplay.
We’re talking about:
Matches being interrupted
Anti-cheat falsely flagging players
No transparency
No way to even identify who you played
And on top of that, after a disconnect, you are forced to hold a button for several seconds to “acknowledge” the match result.
Even when it wasn’t your fault.
So you’re basically forced to confirm:
“Yes, I accept this broken situation and move on.”
That’s unacceptable.
And meanwhile…
Every year:
More untradeable packs
Worse rewards
Slower progression
More pressure to buy FIFA Points
This is not a football game anymore.
It’s a monetization system built around football.
EA knows people love the sport.
They know players will come back.
And they push it further every single year.
Final point
I’m not asking for a fix.
I’m saying this clearly:
This is the last year I spend money on this game.
If you’re thinking about buying the next one:
Don’t look at the trailers.
Don’t listen to the promises.
Look at what the game actually is right now.
Because this is what you’re buying into:
broken systems
zero transparency
aggressive monetization
and now apparently… crashes when you’re about to win
