Career Mode Unplayable

I’m a casual player but i’ve been loyal to the series since FIFA 99. I’m also not a moaner and have generally had a good time ingame untill now. At the moment I feel like throwing the console out the window and watch it get run over by the steam rollers patching the street outside.

FC26 is suddenly unplayable. There was a period in 25 but this is even worse. Where to begin?

DEFENCE:

I read someone say their defence splits like Moses split the red sea when the opposition attack. That. Free run at the GK. Every time. And midfielders don’t track back, they’re spectators. Facing Real Madrid in the league with a skeleton crew of defenders that won’t cover space, and you really have to because you can’t press Mbappe and the like because they just does some really unrealistic dribbling at kitchen blender speed and/or score from really bad angles at the edge of the box.

OFFENCE:

What the **** happened to passing? I thought it was pretty stupid… in FIFA 2004. Because every pass had the right address. It’s the opposite now. I have to make sure to run up to my intended target and give him the ball as you would a precious gift because otherwise the carrier will pass to a player I did not aim at, not unusually one of the opposition.

 I changed the settings and it slightly improved but it did not mitigate the main issue: the reciever’s movement. Oh my god. Building up a nice fluid attack from the back, the striker is in a bit of space, you pass and he slips behind, or next to the defender, close as if they were once conjoined twins surgically seperated at birth now looking to reattach. This happens ALL the time. Every game is a hugging party. Free intercepts everywhere.

This could be mitigated by the player instead running into space but they don’t, no matter what tactic I set. They also don’t come close to seek the carrier out when I play possession. It could also be mitigated by dribbling but suddenly every opposition is prime Aaron Wan Bissaka with a heat seaking tackle. I get dispossesed far too easily. I don’t wan’t to be able to do my man in every time I try but jesus.

I feel like a moany git now writing this but honestly, this is not fun to play at the moment. It’s got to be really bad before I complain. Been like this for a week or so and I really thought this was one of the better installments up untill now.
