EA needs to fix FC - the gameplay is at it's worse
Ok im gonna try this again, last time i spoke the truth i got a 1-day ban because EA doesn’t want the truth - they want to control the narrative -
This is the worst iteration of FC i've ever played - the whole game is in mud - the EA business model and physics model are broken - the good news is 2k is coming and many more after - so there’s hope and at minimum, some much needed competition in the space. EA needs to prioritize gameplay!! This is a video game simulator - nothing more, nothing less - please make the game 1-to-1 response when playing Seasons online - please make the game fast and dynamic - the dribbler should have supreme control and quick lightning touches and speed - this is simple and basic - this was doable in 2004 - let’s make it happen now - also on defense - do the same - allow for ai track backs on loss of possession to be smart - track back and crowd the middle - simple, logical - also the servers need improvement. I’ve literally had hundreds of rage quits against me with no registration. This is not acceptable.
Also, stop with the stealth slider updates - this is deceptive and you're prioritizing user volume over gameplay quality - literally everyday the game feels different - it’s like they have an ai model deciding metrics of the prior day and then makes adjustments to the game. Stop ai testing and have your human devs test it - if they are not having fun - the game is broken - it's simple.
Stop prioritizing an animations-centric game and just allow for 1-1 responsive gameplay - animations are cool but right now the engine is not strong enough to include them - they eat too much memory and make for extremely slow gameplay - I recommend you stop prioritizing a model of close-scoring games (killing the skills gap) because it makes for awful soccer - you're doing results-orientated gaming which is backwards to a solid foundational game - this is short-sighted. I recommend you make seasons a faster, more dynamic gameplay that is fun and good for the true purists and enthusiasts and make your FUT for the micro-transactions you want.
The thing is - and what makes it so frustrating - we’ve seen great iterations of FC before! Usually after a big gameplay update - the devs do great work, the game is flowing and fast, dynamic - and then, without fail, it goes downhill - 48hrs later the metrics report too many beginners are quitting - the skills gap is too high - not enough micro-transactions, etc - and the stealth updates come back with mud - literally this cycle has been playing out for years.
Here is a link to this same article along with one I wrote in June on my substack in case it gets taken down again - I have violated no EA agreements but again, they don’t like having their feet to the fire:
