I agree, these decisions have ruined everything I love about competitve fc and previously fifa titles (going a while back). This is the first game I lost complete hope and the grind is definately not worth it. I was a player who would grind through bad results whether I'm playing bad or bad gameplay through code, server frailties and the nonesense that seemed like scripting but I always belived the latency and delay in the gameplay just broke everything, even AI reactions and decisions. The first couple weeks of this game felt amazing but with every patch it seems the game gets worse. Thats crazy to even think of.
I dont think EA will ever cater to the competitive player who grinds and likes to trade, They want average Joe to come along be rubbish at the game buy loads of packs for the off chance to get the ridicolous players. There wouldnt be so much suspicion and damaging thoughts about this game and company if they were transparent and tried to make the game the best it could be. Its been broken far too long now.
Shame really.
