Is tactical preset just a sham? [Manager Career]

In the tactic screen for you team you have the Tactical preset, that brings with it a set of player roles.

But if you change every player role, and the other settings like formation, build up style and defensive approach your tactical preset doesn't switch to custom. WHY?

Especially because in career, changing tactical preset has an negative effect, players have a bronze to gold rating of what they are used to play.
But if you can actually keep the current preset, while you can change everything else, what's the point?

Does the tactical preset have hidden settings or is just a sham?
And if it does have hidden settings, what is the custom preset have for those??

And to think they touted FC26 career mode as actually good
