Losing coins on top players

I'm sure we got promised or told that if you bought your team they were going to try that you wouldn't lose coin values on top players and that if you pack a good player/totw/promo it would be worth it . 

Well it's actually the opposite.  Prices are massively lower than last year . Meaning you've probably lost alot of coins all ready and if you pack a promo/totw/top player you most likely aren't making that mainly coins .

Is it because at the start of the game they put massive packs in the store . Be interesting to see if they go back on their word about promos being over powered and everyone having super teams by Xmas
