Referee no longer able to give single red cards?

I have played 15 online games, and never seen a single red card, often opponents tackle me from behind when I go 1v1 against the goalkeeper and they got yellow card only. Some players do this 5-10 times in a single game before getting second yellow and finally red. Feels like a new meta. Can you confirm or deny from your experience?

The cards in game do seem to be a lot less now. Don't play online loads but in the last 2 online games I've played I have been absolutely wiped out and they didn't even get a yellow, both were on good attacks and one could arguably have been a red. I'm talking slide tackles that completely take the man out.
