Severe latency degradation in Romania after July 29th maintenance

We suspect that something may have changed recently with the network routing between Digi and EA's data centers, or with the way EA selects data centers for Romanian players. We don't know whether the issue is on EA's side, Digi's side, or somewhere in between, but something has clearly changed.

Could you please investigate whether there have been any recent routing or matchmaking changes affecting Romanian players? Any information or update would be greatly appreciated.

This issue is affecting a large number of players in Romania, especially those using DIGI as their ISP. No matter how many times we troubleshoot, reset our network, or follow the recommended steps, nothing changes.

Before this issue started, most of us were connected to the Poland server, which provided a stable connection with around 30 ms ping. Matchmaking was fast, and the gameplay was smooth.

Now, however, we are almost exclusively being matched with players from Germany, and the connection quality is noticeably worse. To rule out a problem with my home network, I tested the game using my phone's mobile hotspot. While my ping remained about the same, the matchmaking changed completely—I was only matched with players from Turkey instead of Germany.

This strongly suggests that the problem is related to routing rather than our local network setup. It appears that either DIGI's routing or EA's server allocation is preventing Romanian players from connecting to the appropriate Balkan server.

My question is simple: why are we no longer able to connect to the Poland server, which we used for years without any issues and where we consistently had a stable 30 ms ping? If there has been a change to the server infrastructure or matchmaking system, could EA please clarify what changed and whether this is being investigated?

At the moment, this is affecting the experience of many Romanian players, and the standard troubleshooting steps do not resolve the problem.

saruballe , this is a discussion about some server problems in Romania . As i have seen , you are from south Africa , so this is not the place for you .

I’ve reached out to my ISP and they say everything is good on their side. This is only a problem i get on Rivals, when I play clubs my ping is 12-20ms.

Everybody in Romania has the same problem . In particular the ones that have internet from the ISP DIGI . Nothing works. You can try to troubleshoot 10 times a day , nothing is changing. The only players that i play with are from Germany , while in the past , most of them were from Poland ( the country that the nearest server was). I have tried to use my hotspot from my phone to see with what players i connect to. The ping didn’t dropped , as you expect , but now the players in my lobby are only from turkey. So i guess its a routing problem from DIGI , or from Ea, that don’t let us conect to the balkan server . My question is , why we can’t Connect to the old server in Poland that we used to conect to and we had a stable 30 ping connection ?

Hey saruballe​ that you saw an improvement when using your mobile data and a hotspot points to the issue being with your ISP.
