Ah mate - you had to go there … there is no scripting that determines who wins or loses, it’s a myth, simple as that.
if you don’t like VSA - don’t play it.
Fine don’t call it “scripting,” but certain chances in VSA are most definitely rigged. Just played a match that I would have won but for two chances where my players took inexplicably bizarre actions that had NOTHING to do with my inputs/actions. In both cases the chance I started from was clearly designed to foil me and after beating the initial defender the code made sure I failed — in the first instance my striker (Cruyff—one of the best strikers in the game) blasted OVER the goal (which almost never happens), and in the second instance (again with Cruyff) I made a roulette move where he only completed 180 degrees of the spin and spilled the ball to the defender (again, this almost NEVER happens).
You and EA can deny that they use scripting all you want, but all of us who play dozens and dozens of VSA scenarios a week can tell when “the fix is in.” Every time I win a few matches I’m immediately confronted with matches like the one I describe above in which the game mechanics suddenly get wonky and where (regardless of the OVR-rating of my opponent) my players suddenly start behaving like they’re on crack. I don’t care what you call it, but it’s absolutely infuriating and it’s the opposite of FUN (which is what the games is supposed to be about).
I agree 100% with the original post — I can accept being beaten by faster or more skilled players. But what I can’t accept is having ann arm (and, at times, a leg!) tied behind my back. Either make VSA a fair fight or just delete it altogether.
