I came across a thread from 9 months ago highlighting this problem. It wasn't very well worded and got ignored, but this appears to have been a problem for quite a while.
Earlier today, I managed to get a game where I lost 4-3 and I thought I had cracked it by using the jockeying technique and a high possessive game, gently easing my way into the box, and executing that clear scoring opportunity. However, that obviously didn't work as all of a sudden, my aim for passes doesn't send the ball to the player that I want it to go to the point where it is literally 90 degrees off where I aimed... that is unacceptable!
I appreciate that the devs are looking at this and know what the problem is. The thing is, we as players all know what the problem is... our controls are nerfed far too much!
I know a little about coding and the fix is simple... just turn off the diminishing of the player's controls and input. If this is done, it really doesn't matter about the AI difficulty as we would have responsive players back that don't take 10 seconds to shoot and need acres of space to do so. So please tell the devs to raise a change to turn off the player control nerfing, ideally in all areas of the game, get it into CAB through their change management team, get it approved, and roll it out!
