Karrieremodus und Jugendakademie FC 27

I would like to address two issues that currently make Career Mode significantly worse for me and that, in my opinion, urgently need to be improved.

The first issue concerns the Youth Academy and young players. In previous games, player profiles included descriptions such as “Showing Great Potential”, “An Exciting Prospect” or similar indicators. These were very useful because they helped you assess which young players were genuinely worth developing in the long term.

In FC 27, these indicators are completely missing. For me, this is a clear step backwards. Developing young players is one of the most important and enjoyable parts of Career Mode. Removing these potential indicators makes long-term squad planning unnecessarily unclear.

I would therefore strongly like to see these potential descriptions brought back.

The second issue bothers me even more: the completely exaggerated reaction of players after missing only a few matches.

By the time you reach the new year, you can easily have played 20 to 25 competitive matches across the league, domestic cups and European competitions. No real-life manager can use every player in every single match. Rotation is absolutely necessary. Players need rest, especially when their fitness is low or when there are several matches within a short period of time.

However, in FC 27 it happens far too often that a player becomes unhappy after missing only two or three matches. Shortly afterwards, they send messages saying they want more playing time or even that they want to leave the club. In some cases, the player then effectively ends up on the transfer list automatically.

For me, this is neither realistic nor logical.

If a player has very low fitness, I cannot sensibly use him just to prevent his morale or satisfaction from dropping. The game indirectly forces the manager to field exhausted players. That goes completely against the idea of a realistic Career Mode.

The system urgently needs to distinguish between:

  • lack of playing time for sporting reasons
  • necessary squad rotation
  • low fitness
  • workload management
  • injury risk
  • fixture congestion
  • actually being left out over a longer period of time

A player should not immediately demand a transfer after being rested for only two or three matches, especially if he had been playing regularly before that.

The player’s squad role should also be taken into account more realistically. Of course, an “Important” player can reasonably expect more playing time. But even an important first-team player needs to be rested when there are 25 matches within a few months, without immediately threatening to leave the club.

At the moment, this system does not feel like realistic player management. It feels more like the game is punishing you for rotating your squad sensibly.

What I would like to see is the following:

Player satisfaction should decrease much more slowly, fitness and workload should be taken into account, short rotation periods should not immediately lead to transfer requests, and players should only seriously consider leaving after a longer period of genuinely being left out.

For players who mainly play Career Mode, details like these are extremely important. A more realistic system for workload, squad roles and player satisfaction would make the mode much more believable and much more enjoyable in the long term.
