Can’t get rehired as a head coach in franchise mode

I was a 4 year coach in Atlanta and made 4 Super Bowl appearances winning two of them, and then I decided after a Super Bowl loss to start fresh and build another team using the same coach so I wouldn’t lose his legacy. Unfortunately for some reason my resume wasn’t good enough for any team as I was not hired at all. I hope this was just a bug because if the game just made this with the hope that no one would use it, that is absolutely ridiculous. I do not want to start over in my franchise mode but now I am forced to because of this. I don’t even get the option to sit out a year and wait to be hired after next season. I don’t understand why that would be.
