Feature Request: Road to the Super Bowl + Historical Teams

Madden has made great strides in gameplay and Franchise mode, but there are two features that I believe could elevate the game to another level and significantly increase long-term replayability.

1. Road to the Super Bowl (Online Head-to-Head)

Please consider creating an online competitive mode similar to EA Sports College Football's "Road to the College Football Playoff," but designed around the NFL postseason.

Concept

• Play a full online regular season against similarly skilled opponents.
• Earn playoff seeding based on your record.
• Advance through the NFL Playoffs:
  • Wild Card
  • Divisional Round
  • Conference Championship
  • Super Bowl
• Win the Lombardi Trophy to complete your season.
• Seasonal resets with divisions, rankings, rewards, and leaderboards.

Additional Features

• Skill-based matchmaking.
• Division promotion and relegation.
• Seasonal rankings.
• Trophy room displaying every Super Bowl won.
• Unique playoff presentation, commentary, and celebrations.
• Exclusive rewards such as uniforms, profile customization, stadium cosmetics, and player items.

This would make every regular-season game meaningful because every win and loss would directly impact playoff positioning and the opportunity to compete for a championship.

2. Historical Teams and Classic Online Matchups

Another feature the Madden community has requested for years is the addition of historical NFL teams.

Examples include legendary teams such as:

• 1985 Bears
• 1978 Steelers
• 1992 Cowboys
• 1998 Vikings
• 1999 Rams
• 2007 Patriots
• 2013 Seahawks
• 2019 Chiefs

These teams could be available in Play Now, Online Head-to-Head, and custom tournaments.

NBA 2K has demonstrated how successful classic teams can be, allowing players to use legendary rosters online and recreate iconic matchups from different eras. Madden could bring that same excitement to NFL fans by allowing users to play games like:

• 1985 Bears vs. 2000 Ravens
• 1999 Rams vs. 2007 Patriots
• 1978 Steelers vs. 1992 Cowboys
• 2013 Seahawks vs. 2019 Chiefs

Classic teams would add tremendous replay value and celebrate the NFL's rich history while giving players far more variety than current rosters alone.

These two additions—a true "Road to the Super Bowl" online mode and the inclusion of historical NFL teams—would make Madden's online experience deeper, more rewarding, and more replayable for both casual and competitive players. They would also help Madden stand out by combining meaningful online progression with the ability to relive and recreate some of the greatest teams and moments in NFL history.

I would like to see a little bit of support for titles that have a new version out. For example when Madden 27 comes out I would like to see Madden 26 still supported. 

In addition i would like to see end of year LTDs have a Redux. Some console players who are not fortunate to get or a Ford LTDs in some of the packs should at some point be able to get at least a Redux or have packs with LTDs reintroduced into the game a month or two later. 

I would like some of the cleanup of the abilities to happen since there are many abilities that really have no effect on the gameplay or the player item in the game . Additionally there are a few abilities that pretty much duplicate one another 

Lastly some Superstars are hall of Famers and they should have the ability to get over 99 stats. A Randy Moss should not max out at the same level as a non hall of fame wide receiver. 

Historical teams used to be a feature in regular mode. It would be nice if they brought that back.
