old xbox one madden 24 wont let me do some feathers in franchise like scouting

So i purchased madden 24 on the online store and you clearly dont get everything that xbox x or s get.  Some of the new feathers wont work and i cant cross play a franchise online. its like i just have old madden dressed up like a little different. please say im doing something wrong and this can be fixed. i hope i dont need to buy a new xbox to play online or be able to scout the way it was made/. please help!
